What To Expect During Your First Visit

At Tranquility Chiropractic, we create a unique care plan based on individual goals and characteristics of each one of our patients. We focus on short-term treatment plans with supplemental education to help you maintain your results.

Your journey at Tranquility Chiropractic will begin with an initial visit with our lead chiropractor, Dr. Jennifer Fabro, DC. Dr. Jenn will conduct an initial consultation to get a snapshot if your personal and medical history, along with your personal testimony of the pain you are experiencing.

From there, Dr. Jenn will work with you to determine your chiropractic goals. Based on Dr. Jenn's evaluation, if x-rays are necessary they are performed on-site. Unless there are concerning factors or contraindications, an adjustment is typically administered on the first visit. Dr. Jenn will explain the process of the chiropractic adjustment as it is performed so you know exactly what is being adjusted and why. Initial visits take about 45-60 minutes depending on your needs.

At the end of your appointment, Dr. Jenn will walk you through a plan of action that will help you maintain the benefits of your adjustment. These plans are usually easily integrated into your daily lifestyle. If you ever have an issue after you leave our office, Dr. Jenn does have weekend and late weekday hours available.

Follow-Up Visits By Dr. Jenn

Dr. Jenn's goal is to minimize the number of visits required to help you reach your chiropractic goals, however, follow-up visits are generally necessary to make lasting spinal corrections.

During your first follow-up visit, if any x-rays were taken, Dr. Jenn will review them in detail, create a personalized treatment plan and incorporate any supplemental care such as exercises, stretches or soft tissue/muscular therapy. Your chiropractic care plan will continue until the goals that were collectively set during your initial appointment are achieved, or until you are satisfied with the results of your care. Follow up visits can take anywhere between 10-30 minutes depending on your needs. http://mirziamov.ru

Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting an adjustment hurt?

No. Adjustments are not painful. Many of our patients tell us that adjustments are pleasurable.

What do you use to perform the adjustments?

Adjustments can be performed manually, by the hands of Dr. Jenn. Adjustments can also be performed with the assistance of chiropractic adjustment tools.

How does getting an adjustment feel?

Getting an adjustment does not feel like moving bones, rather, a re-alignment of your bones.

What's that popping/cracking noise?

The noise that you may hear during a chiropractic adjustment is a release of gas from the joints of the spine. It is not your actual bones cracking, but a restoration of motion in the joints. If you are not comfortable hearing pops and cracks, we can utilize adjusting tools that still restore motion in a joint and are just as effective as manual adjusting techniques.

Will I be sore after my adjustment?

Soreness is common but not always the case. The soreness can be similar to the feeling of post-workout soreness. It can be remedied by an ice pack and should resolve itself within a day or so.

Why does soreness occur after getting an adjustment?

There are many factors that contribute to soreness after an adjustment, for instance, how lax or taut your ligaments, tendons, and muscles around the joint are. If you have decreased range of motion due to tight muscles, you may experience soreness after a chiropractic adjustment due to the increased motion in the joint that an adjustment provides.

Are there any restrictions to getting an adjustment?

Chiropractic adjustments are generally safe and effective for everyone. Chiropractic care for young children and older adults is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. The only way to find out if you are a good candidate for chiropractic care or not is to contact us for an appointment.

I heard that I have to keep coming back for chiropractic care to work. Is that true?

For most people, that statement is not true. However, taking care of your spine is important to your overall health. Just like getting your teeth cleaned regularly can prevent cavities and gum disease; regular chiropractic adjustments can keep your body functioning properly to prevent pain from returning in the future and aid in any postural abnormalities. We will not, however, force you to come back for follow-up adjustments if you do not need them.

What if I have to reschedule my appointment?

If you need to reschedule your appointment for any reason, simply call our office at (248) 923-1395 and we'll find a date and time that best fits your schedule.

Is chiropractic covered under my insurance?

It depends on your plan, but we accept most insurance plans that offer chiropractic care. If you don't have insurance or don't have chiropractic care as a part of your insurance plan, we offer affordable cash plans as well.
